Part-time Summer Internships with the New York Magic Women’s Soccer Club
 
The New York Magic women’s soccer team is currently looking for motivated interns based in Manhattan and Brooklyn for the summer 2017 season.  The New York Magic plays its home games at Poly Prep in Brooklyn and practices at Harlem River Park in New York, NY.

Available Internships for Summer 2017

1.  Digital Video & Film Intern

The Digital Video and Film Intern will shoot, edit and produce game day and practice video footage.

Reports to:  President / Manager 

Position Purpose:  This internship is ideal for an individual seeking a career in sports management or a sports-related field.  Interns will assist in creating video content for a top level, pro-amateur women’s soccer team and gain valuable experience in all areas of production including filming and editing.  

This is an unpaid, part-time summer internship.  Students must receive college credit.  Proof of this credit is required.

Required Skills & Responsibilities

  • Shoot, edit, and produce game day, practice and organization videos.
  • Produce game and cumulative season highlight videos.
  • Work with Marketing and Operations Departments to provide video support for website content.
  • Create new marketing and promotional videos for the team and organization.
  • Manage organization’s YouTube website.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned by the organization’s management.

Qualifications

  • Strong video production skills and experience, YouTube experience
  • Strong knowledge of and specific interest in the sport of soccer (women’s soccer interest a plus)
  • Ability to work under a deadline
  • Creativity and the willingness to contribute new ideas for content
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation
  • Must be able to work all home matches
  • Must receive college credit. Proof of this credit is required

2.  Operations and Marketing Internship

Reports to:  President / Manager and Director of Operations

Position Purpose:  The Operations and Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting the operations department in all aspects related to game day operations and assisting the marketing team in its development and implementation of its grassroots marketing campaign in Westchester County.  This internship is ideal for someone looking for a career in sports management or a sports-related field. 

This is an unpaid, part-time summer internship.  Students must receive college credit.  Proof of this credit is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Stadium set up and breakdown on game-day.
  • Ticket and merchandise sales
  • Game day promotion management
  • Customer Service
  • Media and Communication Support
  • Social Media Management
  • Coordination and communication with members of the local media and community
  • Promotional efforts including providing coverage at various community and marketing events in Westchester County.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of and specific interest in the sport of soccer (women’s soccer interest a plus)
  • Ability to work under a deadline
  • Creativity and the willingness to contribute new ideas for content
  • Must be able to handle moderate physical activity as it pertains to stadium set-up
  • Must be able to provide coverage at various community and marketing events in Westchester County
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation
  • Must be able to work all home matches
  • Must receive college credit. Proof of this credit is required
