New York Magic Takes On Jamaican Women's National Team
Sunday, February 7, 2010 in Montego Bay, Jamaica
In preparation of the 2010 W-League season, New York Magic will compete in a fundraising exhibition match against the Reggae Girls of the Jamaican National Team. This 2010 Celebrity Brawta Event will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2010 in Appleton Estate, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.
The Magic team was invited to play the match as a fundraiser for underprivileged schools in St. Elizabeth. During the trip, the Magic will also conduct clinics and training sessions for the local youth players. In addition, the event will feature a Jamaican Celebrity Football team versus an Appleton Estate team.
The Magic is looking forward to this exciting opportunity to participate with the Jamaican Women’s National Team in the 2010 Funday Football Celebrity Brawta!
New York Fights to a 0–0 Tie

NEW YORK, NY – The New York Magic Club had a weekend to celebrate, with two wins from the U–16 boys team, a win from the U–15 girls team, and a well-played tie from the W–League team. The New York Magic’s W-League team went cleat-to-cleat against the New Jersey Wildcats on June 13. The Wildcats were ranked four seeds above the Magic, and as rain came steadily down, it made passing difficult for both sides. Despite the challenges, the Magic played a fierce game, challenging the Wildcats on offense and defending against the attack well. The Magic stayed in constant motion, reading the plays and challenging the ball.

The New York Magic is looking forward...the W-League team has two back-to-back home matches scheduled in the coming week. On Saturday, June 13 at 4 PM at Old Boys High School in Brooklyn, the Magic take on the New Jersey Wildcats and returning on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 6 PM the Magic hosts the Long Island Rough Riders. The Magic team (1-3-1) is looking to post the second and third wins of the season as they take on their Northeast rivals.

New York, NY – The New York Magic W-League team will play all home games in Brooklyn, New York during the 2009 W-League season. The New York Magic W-League soccer team announced that they will move their home field to the Old Boys High School Field in Brooklyn. This is the first time that the NY Magic will play the schedule of home games in Brooklyn.

The game was was tied, 1-1, with 4 minutes remaining in the game....when Magic defender Eleri Earnshaw cleared a ball off the goal line with her head,.....that the referee ruled a goal!!

The Magic Super Y teams enjoyed five (5) exciting victories and the Magic W-League team earned a tie to round out the weekend. NY Magic W-League team played against Connecticut Passion on a rainy Saturday evening tying the Passion for the second time this season (1-1).

Tough Loss against NJ Wildcats, 1-5
The New York Magic W-League team experienced a tough loss (1-5) against the NJ Wildcats on Saturday, May 24 in NJ. The Magic came out strong scoring their first and only goal of the game in the 9th minute of play by a beautifully excuted goal from young forward, Donna Kay Henry. The Magic has the potential to be a much stronger team than it showed on the pitch last night and the team will have to regroup and work hard to get over the disappointing loss.

The NY Magic played their first game of the 2008 season against a W-League newcomer, the Conn. Passion, on Saturday, May 10 at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. The Magic held a 2-1 lead until 9 minutes left in the game when the Passion was awarded a penalty kick to tie the game at 2-2.
